Research Interests

The research collaboration with Professor Jasmeen Merzaban focuses on the phenomenon of cellular rolling. We aim to investigate cellular rolling and the steps involved in tether and sling formation due to the E-selectin to cell interaction in flow. Cell rolling is an important precursor to hematopoietic stem cell homing to the bone marrow and studying it can prove helpful in unraveling the properties of cellular homing and tether/sling formation. Additionally, imaging of specific cellular markers on the cell surface such as CD44 and PSGL1 can help elucidate the role of such proteins and how they may contribute to tether and sling formation.
