Research Interests

Nirmal Das did his M. Sc. in Chemistry from IIT Kanpur, India, in 2012. He received his Ph.D. degree from IISER Bhopal, India, in November 2017. There he studied spectroscopic investigations of the organized assemblies, synthesis, and spectroscopic applications of luminescent metal nanoclusters. Then he joined as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland, in 2018-2019. In September 2019, he moved to the Institute of Plasma Physics, The Czech Academy of Sciences, Czech Republic. He was involved in exploring molecular insight of the non-linear optical properties of interfaces of thin films.

 
He is currently working as a postdoctoral fellow in KAUST, and his current research interests include generations of stable luminescent nanomaterials (especially shortwave infra-red emitting P/J dots) for bio-imaging applications.
